How much does a residential solar system cost in Hyderabad?
A typical 3 kW residential system costs ₹1,80,000–₹2,40,000 before subsidy. Under PM SURYA GHAR you get ₹30,000 for 1 kW, ₹60,000 for 2 kW, and ₹78,000 for 3 kW. Net cost after subsidy is approximately ₹1,00,000–₹1,60,000 with a payback period of 3–5 years.
How long does the installation take?
A residential 3–5 kW system is typically installed in 1–2 days. Commercial systems of 10–100 kW take 3–7 days. Large industrial projects (100 kW+) are completed in 2–4 weeks depending on site conditions. DISCOM net meter approval takes an additional 2–4 weeks after installation.
What government subsidies are available for solar in Telangana?
Under the PM SURYA GHAR scheme, central subsidies of up to ₹78,000 are available for rooftop solar systems up to 3 kW. TSREDCO also offers state-level schemes. For commercial and industrial consumers, accelerated depreciation benefits of 40% are available. Our team handles all subsidy paperwork on your behalf.
What maintenance does a solar system need?
Solar systems require very little maintenance. We recommend quarterly panel cleaning (especially in dusty areas), annual electrical inspection, and bi-annual inverter servicing. Our O&M contracts cover all preventive and corrective maintenance with priority response times. Most Tier-1 panels require zero maintenance for 25 years.
What happens to my solar system during a power cut?
On-grid systems shut down automatically during power cuts (for grid safety). Hybrid systems with battery backup continue to power your essential loads seamlessly during outages. Off-grid systems are completely independent of the grid and are unaffected by power cuts. We help you choose the right system type for your power reliability needs.
Is my rooftop suitable for solar installation?
Most rooftops in Telangana are suitable for solar. We check for: minimum 100 sq.ft of shadow-free space per kW of solar, structural load-bearing capacity, roof orientation (south-facing preferred) and roof condition. Our free site survey includes a detailed shadow analysis and structural assessment with no obligation to proceed.
